Okay then, like me, you are probably getting tired of all the political rhetoric, meaningless polls, and the life and times of one Donald Trump. I do feel your pain. This will be the last blog I will write on politics until after the election and maybe not even then.

I want to give you some comfort and encouragement over these last thirty plus days left. There is a new energy aloft in the universe. If you didn’t feel it before, you felt it as soon as Joe Biden stepped down and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president. As 60’s Christian folk songwriter David Yantis expressed,  “There is a New Wind Blowin’.”

And perhaps you remember this song from the 60’s by The Fifth Dimension:

When the Moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.”  (Bet you sang it!)

According to astrologists in the Farmer’s Almanac, The Age of Aquarius is “a Great Age, it is associated with the position of the March equinox. In 2024, the location of the Sun on the March equinox is in the constellation of Pisces but also on the border of Aquarius. So, we are slowly moving into a new age, from Pisces to Aquarius. Astrologically, this Great Age will accompany a couple of thousand years of harmony, egalitarianism, and understanding. The Age of Aquarius is culturally more intellectual, networked, and integrated around the globe.” (Farmer’s Almanac, September 26, 2024)

Other than what I have said above, I have no intention of boring you with a rant on the Astrology of the Age of Aquarius. I have no interest, or the ability, to do so.

That being said, there is a new energy in the universe that is certainly positive and almost joyful. Call it Aquarius if you want or Kamala energy. People of all parties, generations, races, etc. are breaking out of their fog of boredom and political disinterest to a new reality. Just ask Dick Cheney! They are tired of the negative rhetoric of DJT and ready to move forward. No going back!

For those of you who have followed my blogs and ramblings, you have heard me say that Harris will win the presidential election over Trump. I believe that with all my being. The energy for Kamala is so strong and positive that even if it wanes a bit, it will still outperform and maneuver the GOP negativity. Trump is running scared because he knows his “reality show” is about to come to an end and will not be renewed for another season.

However, that is not to say that the GOP will wither on the vine but will do everything in their limited power, legal and illegal, to change the outcome of the election for Trump if he loses. Trump is already saying, “I don’t need any more votes,” which means he is intending, or at least hoping, to create enough chaos to send the election to the House of Representatives. We are in for some interesting times ahead, and I implore you to do not give in to the chaos.

So, do not believe any of the polls. They literally mean, and prove, nothing. As Kamala says, her campaign is the underdog, and she will continue to work accordingly. IGNORE THE POLLS.

Frankly, I cannot believe that there are undecided voters out there. It seems to me that if they are really undecided, they have no understanding that this election is about the overthrow of our Democracy if Trump is elected. It is, I believe, because they are simply voting for party or the person they currently like best. It is true that Trump currently leads in the categories of border security and the economy. That alone will encourage many to be Trump voters.

Michael Podhorzer, a fellow at the Center for American Progress in an MSNBC opinion piece on 9/28/24, talks about “The Biggest Myth about ‘Undecided’ Voters.” He maintains that in the last eight years, fewer people are changing parties in their voting habits. Podhorzer claims that one in six voters are undecided or have weak voting preferences. This skews the polls which basically says the polls mean very little in predictive outcomes.

There is a third choice that poll takers often ignore and that is not to vote at all. Podhorzer says, “In our winner-take-all system, voting third party has the same practical effect as not voting.)…we ignore these voters at our peril. While Harris has done a terrific job reconsolidating and inspiring Democrats, perceptions of how dangerous a second Trump administration seem to have stalled. If that doesn’t change, we risk that too many of the infrequent anti-MAGA voters who helped Democrats win before will stay home in November. And if that happens, it will be an unforgivable failure of the media and civil society to alert Americans to the very avoidable consequences of Trump regaining power.”

Whether or not Podhorzer is accurate or not remains to be seen. I would contend that it is not the undecided voters that are instrumental in a Harris/Walz win but the previous non-voters who will be coming out of the woodwork and vote to save Democracy.

There is a large contingent of first-time voters: the young adults who are first time voters and older adults who hardly ever vote. This year is different. They are feeling the winds of change and seeing the necessity of saving Democracy, and who knows how large that group might be. There are approximately 8+ million youth coming to age as first-time voters. Obviously, not all of them will vote. Both parties are working tirelessly to reel them in.

So, where do we go from here? Good question of course, but it seems to me that it rests on the notion of creating energy and vibration that serves the greater good.

We all need to have positive thoughts that every day energizes our politics and social culture. Ignore negative impulses that chastise others (yes, even the Donald) and continue to create the energy that will serve the greater good. Also, think and act outside the box of this nation and send positive energy to mother earth that she is loved and respected.

I’ve created a meditation mantra that might help some of you get in the spirit of this notion:

Hang in there, y’all. We got this!

Blessings
